Observations & Assessments
Your child’s happiness and development are at the heart of what we do. We provide access to a rich variety of learning experiences personalised to their needs and interests.
Monitoring Your Child’s Progress
At Buds to Blossoms nursery, we understand that every child is unique with their own learning style and pace. Through the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework we monitor, measure and celebrate your child’s progress.
Communicating with You
Our tailored approach creates an engaging and supportive environment where your little one is excited to come to nursery to discover new things.
We understand that you want to know about all the special moments from your child’s day. Using an online app, we’ll share daily photos and videos of their special ‘wow’ moments, so you don’t miss a thing.
You’ll also receive regular updates on activities they’re enjoying, their learning, plus, ideas on what you can do to support them at home.
Birthday Development Check
Each year around your child’s birthday, we’ll carry out a development assessment to check their learning is on track. This is shared with you and highlights your child’s achievements and wins, plus areas where they might benefit from extra support. We can also discuss this with you one-to-one.
Observations and Feedback
Through regular observations and feedback, we tailor our approach to support your child’s individual development, helping them to achieve the Early Learning Goals (ELGs) they will be expected to meet by the end of their reception year.
Meeting these important milestones helps ensure your child has a smooth, confident transition to the next stage of their learning journey, primary school.
Getting To Know You
When your child joins us, we take time to listen and learn about them. We’ll also ask you to complete an ‘All About Me’ questionnaire detailing all the good stuff, from their likes and dislikes to ways we can help your little one settle in. We’ll also carry out a baseline assessment to identify their starting point and gauge their progress over time.
Smooth Transition to Primary School
Before your child moves up to primary school, we’ll complete a transition assessment. This is given to their reception teacher and contains detailed insights into your child’s development, strengths, and where they might benefit from additional support, ensuring the best possible start to ‘big school’.
